When photographing scenes like this, I’ll often lengthen the shutter speed on my camera so that any water is rendered with very little detail. The reason why I do this is to reduce any of the small details within textured water that might take away from the elements that I want to draw attention to, in this case, the beautiful aspen trees. The yellow in the foreground is leaves floating past the camera.
