It was such a unique photo opportunity to photograph Aspen in autumn colour surrounded by water. It does beg the question though at what cost to our wildlands? The flooding here is not a natural occurrence as Abraham Lake is actually a man-made lake for Alberta Hydro. For whatever reason, this often dry area in the summer was flooded for hydro. Another appalling sight was to see the amount of garbage and toilet paper strewn all over the campgrounds in this area. So what often appears as pristine, untouched wilderness is not always the case.
